Tough new planning regulations governing the number and positioning of mobile phone masts across Scotland have gone before the Scottish Parliament. Responding to public concern, the regulations will see new ground based masts coming under full planning control and masts on buildings will be restricted. The regulations will come into force at the end of July 2001.
