Housing market update

Housing market update - 2001 - RICS UK Economic Brief July 2001, 6(1) .

Describes, and then considers, key industry observers' recent assessments of the state of the housing market. Gives details of the Halifax and Nationwide's June 2001 house price indices. Both point to an upturn in house prices over the last three months. The RICS Housing Market Survey backs up this current picture of renewed buoyancy. Due to the deteriorating global economic climate the RICS Survey predicts a moderation in house prices by autumn 2001. Graph.
