Following a year of consultation with residents, businesses and stakeholders, the Mayor of London has launched the Transport Strategy for London. This sets the framework for transport in the capital for the next ten years. The strategy aims to increase both bus, and Underground and rail, capacity by 40% by 2011, and to reduce traffic in central London by 15%. The latter will involve the introduction of congestion charging in central London.
