Greater London Authority plans to maintain prime Thamesside Wharf sites for industrial use. This has angered developers and local authorities as the sites are favourable for office and residential development. In the London Borough of Newham where seven of the 32 wharfs are located the GLA policy is said to be preventing regeneration.
