A London property developer has put forward the idea that a levy on increased land values could fund improvements to London Underground. In his book, "Taken for a ride", Don Riley suggests that government could use the tax system to capture additional revenue where public sector projects raise rental values; an example being the rapid land price rises around the new Jubilee line stations.
