Wildlife and Countryside Link, made up of 14 environmental groups, has claimed that agri-environment schemes are underfunded, with only 10% of farms covered and providing only limited benefits from its restricted resources. The Link is calling on government to simplify schemes administratively with more positive rewards for farmers and also to merge government schemes into a single national programme.
