Industry and energy minister launches consultation document on the Renewables Obligation which will drive a major increase in the UK's proportion of green electricity. Proposals hope to secure 10% of electricity sales from renewable energy by 2010 and will give £1bn boost to renewables and encourage new cleaner technologies to extract energy from waste rather than incineration.
