Government has announced that the Rethinking Construction Initiative, aimed at driving up safety and reliability standards in the industry, will continue for another two years after March 2002. The extension is the result of a consultation within the industry, which revealed strong support for the initiative's continuation, but with a simpler, more integrated structure.
