A report carried out by the Symonds Group, John Moores University and Charlton Smith for the HSE, blames universities for poor safety in construction, asserting that courses fail to highlight health and safety sufficiently. The report recommends that universities improve communication with industry and that government and funding agencies raise the profile of health and safety in the education sector.
