Amendment 11 of the Foot and Mouth Order which bans on-farm sales in Great Britain has provoked an angry response among livestock auctioneers. Chairman of the Livestock Auctioneers' Association claims that DEFRA failed to mention the ruling at a recent stakeholders meeting and the industry is disappointed after ensuring bio-security measures were in place as originally requested by DEFRA.
