In the light of the proposed Government Bill on the Norfolk Broads ,this paper considers the importance of the Broads in regard to conservation and recreation ,the reasons why the environment of the area has deteriorated over the years and the action that is being taken to correct this. Concludes with a look at the events which led to the proposal to establish a new statutory body to manage the Broads encompassed in the new Bill.
