The British Chamber of Commerce "Planning for the future - the BCC's priorities for planning reform" key recommendations include the appointment of a national planning commissioner, reduction in the number of policy planning guidance notes, passing responsibility for regional planning guidance to regional development agencies, streamlining compulsory purchase orders and access to planning departments including more use of IT.
