TCMs presses set up BIDs - 2001 - Urban Environment Today 27 September 2001, 5(1) .

Town centre management initiatives are already approaching government about setting up business improvement districts in their area, well ahead of any proposed legislation. First BIDs are due to be formed by six councils including Nottingham and Birmingham that last year were given beacon status for their town centre management. It is possible that the first initiatives will not be set up until April 2004.
