Electronic title - 2001 - Solicitors' Journal 145(36) 28 September 2001, 878-879(2) .

Outlines and discusses the key provisions of the Land Registration Bill, which will repeal the Land Registration Act 1925, and is currently passing quickly through Parliament. The bill will introduce a new set of provisions that relate only to registered land, and dealings with unregistered land in England and Wales that trigger first registration. The new provisions will enable electronic conveyancing, change the law on adverse possession and make other changes that will facilitate an electronic system of dealing with land. Notes that, although the bill has received widespread approval, there is much concern over the security of electronic signatures and the vulnerability of the network to hackers.
