BRE proposes tighter rules on the fire retardancy of cladding and key structural features after examining the collapse of the World Trade Center. Items under scrutiny include clamping down on the use of highly flammable plastics in cladding, increased fire resistance between floors and ensuring cable ducts and wiring do not encourage the spread of fire.
