Four consortia will tender for the MOD's first Regional Prime Contract, to be awarded in late 2002. With an estimated worth of up to £442m, the contract involves the provision of property maintenance, facilities management and capital works for the defence estate throughout Scotland. The contract forms part of government's nationwide programme to improve the defence estate and reform its construction procurement.
