The Commercial and Industrial Floorspace and Rateable Value Statistics 2000 are published. These reveal that in 2000 there was 569m square metres of floorspace in England and Wales. Of this 18% was in retail premises, 16% in offices, 41% in factories and 25% in warehouses. The statistics also reveal that the average rateable value of all premises in 2000 was £54 per sq m.
