DEFRA has approved the Frankwell Flood Alleviation Scheme for grant aid. Frankwell is the first area in Shrewsbury to be affected when the River Severn floods. The grant will contribute to work costing around £2.1m. This will include building demountable defences, earth embankments and flood walls.
