In Central Property Investment Co Ltd v Camden LBC and Another , QBD 11 April 1989, the point at issue was Camden `s liability to pay the balance of compensation due to the company, whose land had been compulsorily purchased by the GLC before abolition. The GLC had made an advance payment and it was held that the rights and liabilities vested in the relevant borough council and not in the London Residuary Body, as Camden contested.
