New planning targets benefit business

Government has announced that basic planning applications will no longer be given priority over complex business applications. New targets, based on the country's top performers, will be introduced in 2002. These include: determining 60% of major commercial and industrial development applications in 13 weeks; 65% of minor commercial and industrial development applications within 8 weeks; and 80% of all other applications within 8 weeks.
