RICS has commissioned one of the UK's top economists, Roger Bootle, to conduct research into how much the economy loses as a result of firms neglecting their property assets. The research is part of a drive by the RICS to raise the profile of property in UK company boardrooms. Bootle's research should be ready for publication in spring 2002.
