A conference, to be held in Wolverhampton on 20 November, will examine the 75 adjudication cases which have been heard to date since the Construction Act came into effect in May 1998. A similar Construction Contracts Bill is due to go before the New Zealand parliament in 2002. This bill goes slightly further than its UK equivalent by setting an adjudication procedure and gives the adjudicator the power to place a charge on the land on which a project is taking place.
