RICS members have backed RICS policy over surveyors' education. Governing Council's policy on university accreditation will now be maintained. The result of the postal ballot on the issue was announced at RICS London headquarters on 12 November 2001: 7195 voted for the resolution to 'revoke and rescind' the RICS policy on surveying course accreditation, and 7339 voted against.
