RICS publishes its first forecast for rental movements in the UK commercial property sector in the next two years. It predicts commercial property rental growth will be reduced to 2.5% in 2002 before recovering to 3.1% in 2003. Economic slowdown is the key factor to the limiting of growth but the danger of rental falls is much less than in the early 1990s recession.
