Call for local plan to become policy

Town and Country Planning Association launched proposals for planning reform which suggest that local plans should become policy statements for the whole council area. Local plan inquiry recommendations should be binding and statutory timetables for local plan production and review should be adopted. The Local Government Association also agreed that local plans need to be revamped.
