Reports that the construction industry has reported strong growth this year after a fall off in the second half of 2000. Repair and maintenance sector has been particularly strong with output 3.4% higher in the first six months of the year than in the same period last year. Public sector construction activity surged in the second quarter of the year by 8.2%.
