Housing Minister Lord Falconer announces a £100 rent cap concession on social rents for London. This will benefit approximately 15,000 tenants. National Housing Federation welcomed the limit as providing stability but other organisations such as the Chartered Institute of Housing warned the policy could have undesirable effects outside the capital.
