DTI has published its output and construction statistics for 3Q 2001. These show that the total volume of construction output in the year to 3Q 2001 increased by 2% compared to the previous 12 month period. Overall new work also rose slightly over the same period. However, the seasonally adjusted number of employees in employment in July 2001 was 2% lower compared with April 2001, and 3% lower than in July 2000.
