Summarises the new research undertaken by RICS and the Housing Corporation which looks at the different approaches local authorities take in the provision of affordable housing. Concludes that the provision of this housing is considerably eased by clear local policies. The foundations for local delivery include increased clarity of affordable housing provisions and promotion of a better and more consistent understanding of the processes and issues affecting each party to the delivery of PPG3 affordable housing.
