Describes recent developments in law and policy relating to flooding in the aftermath of the widespread floods in the autumn of 2000. In particular examines two recent cases including " Bybrook Barn Centre Ltd v Kent CC" where claims for damages arising out of the flooding of a garden centre was dismissed. "Marcic v Thames Water" featured a property which was severely affected by flooding by the defendants sewer. Defendant held not to be liable under the Human Rights Act 1998.
