Gives details of the RICS Residential Faculty's new guidance on evaluating flooding risks for surveyors undertaking building or valuation surveys. Lists many of the external factors which may constitute a form of risk assessment for a property. Argues that it is still unclear on how much disclosure the chartered surveyor should be liable for. Outlines previous advice on this issue including planning poicy guidance notes on the limitations of building on flood plains and the results of some recent law cases.
