Two recently announced moves confirm the widely held acceptance that the US antiques trade and collectors are happier to complete transactions online than their UK counterparts. Both icollector and sothebys.com are to close their London operations. The former is to work out of British Columbia, while sothebys.com will service its entire global network from New York.
