A consultation document on planning obligations, which aims to create more certainty for developers and more affordable homes for key workers, has been published. A fairer, more transparent system is proposed. A simpler community benefit policy sets out more clearly the community contribution developers will be required to make if planning permission is granted. Copies of "Reforming Planning Obligations: Delivering Fundamental Change" is available at: http://www.planning.dtlr.gov.uk/index.htm. Comments must be submitted by 18 March 2002.
