Reports on business tools which make production processes 'leaner' and more efficient with particular reference to construction. Argues that these are a total management reorganisation plans and not just a technique for the reduction of waste. For example, certain sections can be examined such as inspection which can be costly and time consuming and which could be replaced by picking up errors earlier in the process. Also suggests improving information streams between contractor and client to establish the same client for a number of jobs and to use the same supply teams.
