Henriques v Stephens (VO)
- 2001
- Rating Appeals [2001] RA 366-377(12) .
LT 6 August 2001. A local valuation tribunal valued a property described as an office at £810 rateable value. Ratepayer appealed against decision arguing that the Oxford English Dictionary definition of an office did not fit the description of the building. The premises was in exceptionally poor repair and was structually defective. The LT decided the premises were a hereditament correctly described as offices as it was used as an office until 1991 and could be used for such a purpose again if reasonable repairs were carried out. A lower rateable value was determined at the date 1 April 1995 at £585. View at www.courtservice.gov.uk/tribunals/lands_frm.htm.
