A letter from the Lord Chancellor's Department, on the Land Registration Bill, suggests that landowners may be forced to register all their land for the first time since the Domesday Book in 1086. The Land Registration Bill, now at committee stage, aims to simplify land registry and make it more accessible; at present it only 'encourages' landowners to register their land.
