Latest Residential Economic forecast by RICS argues house prices are more affordable now than 20 years ago. Cost of buying a home now takes up 20% of disposable income, less than half the cost of in the late 1980s. RICS economists predict that prices will rise by 6% in 2002 compared with 10% last year.
