The Constructors Liaison Group has set a target of ridding the industry of retentions in all public sector work within six months. It intends to hold government accountable to its "Achieving Excellence" programme, which promotes Best Value, but is due to expire soon. CLG calls on the 18 departments which signed up to the document to explain how they are achieving the goals they set out.
