Report from a Property Week seminar examining the implications of the Disability Discrimination Act which comes into force on 10 October 2004 on landlords and tenants in terms of cost. Questions raised included what is 'reasonable' works and costs and whether the landlord or the tenant paid; a limited fund of money is available for those unable to pay and those applying for it should show that they have prepared for DDA by carrying out an audit. Those who failed to prepare properly could leave themselves open to future legal action or large bill.
