A study "Sustaining our Living Heritage" published by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) reveals that a severe national skills shortage is putting the future of the UK's landscapes, habitats and historic buildings at risk. Traditional skills such as thatching to stone masonary are dwindling, due to poor investment, lack of apprentices and such skills being undervalued. Includes case studies.
