A survey of US auctioneers reveals firm trends starting to appear in online auctions. Most of the auctioneers agreed that access to Internet facilities had increased interest, and bidding and as a result prices were better. The worst problem voiced, seemed to be non-payment. One auctioneer estimated he had lost $1000 on every sale conducted via the Internet so far. The overall picture is that the US is developing a workable Internet bidding service.
