Wanted: 'Czar' for rural flood action - 2002 - Farmers' Weekly 136(4) 25 January 2002, 1(1) .

Peter Faulkner, president of RICS, calls for the appointment of a 'flood czar' to co-ordinate the battle against flooding. At present, flood management policy is the responsibility of the Environment Agency, water companies and over 200 drainage boards which the president feels is inefficient and wastes resources.
