European Commission has approved £185m of Urban II funding for ten new urban development programmes across Britain. The grants, which will run until 2006, will target deprived urban areas of Belfast, Bristol, Burnley, Clyde, Derby, East Durham Coalfield, Halifax, Peterborough, Stockwell and Thames Gateway.
