The Energy Minister is offering 14 of the 22 Petroleum and Development Licences in the 10th Onshore Licensing Round to companies concentrating on gas from coalmines. It is hoped the licences will bring jobs to former mining areas and contribute to the UK's energy supply and Kyoto targets.
