Lord Falconer, planning minister says government will not be issuing national guidance on tall buildings despite pressure from certain groups. Without guidlines tall buildings will be treated in the same way as any other potential development and considered on a case-by-case basis. Organisations such as English Heritage want clarification on what makes a good tall building and national planning guidance to safeguard historic contexts.
