DTLR has launched a consultation paper containing guidelines on developing contaminated land. It is part of government's drive to increase the supply of decontaminated land for regeneration and it will replace the sections of PPG23 that deal with contaminated land. The emphasis is on using the planning process to identify the potential for decontaminating land at an early stage. The consultation period ends 15 May 2002. "Development on land affected by contamination: consultation paper on draft planning technical advice" is available from Brian Freeland; t +44(0)20 7944 3856 or email [email protected]
