- 2002
- Farmers Guardian 22 February 2002, 24(1) .
Farmers affected by the 3km cull in Cumbria will be able to appeal against valuations of their animals. DEFRA has agreed to NFU's demands and will write to those farmers who voluntarily had their animals slaughtered, inviting them to apply for the right to challenge the valuations they were given. Farmers must also supply details of the incorrect information which prevented them from disputing the valuations. Farmers who do not receive their letter should call the DEFRA helpline on 0845 050 4343.
