According to DTZ, the US was responsible for the highest amount of investment in the UK property market in 2001. In its annual "Foreign investments in UK commercial property" report, which examines all overseas transactions carried out in the UK over £1m. DTZ researchers found US investment topped £2.3bn in the UK last year, accounting for over 40% of all foreign investment during 2001. Ireland was second to the US accounting for over 12% or £700m of transactions. Office and retail sectors continued to dominate. http://www.dtz.com
