DEFRA has announced the 34 organisations who successfully bid through auction to join the UK Emissions Trading Scheme. Participating companies have agreed to cut annual greenhouse gas emissions by 4m tonnes of carbon dioxide over the five year scheme which is set to begin from 2 April 2002.
