DEFRA and the Environment Agency have published a new contaminated land exposure assessment (CLEA) model and four supporting reports to provide a scientific framework to assess the risks of land contamination to human health. The CLEA model and new soil guideline values (SGVs) will help determine whether a range of contaminants covering residential, allotment and industrial/commercial land uses pose a significant risk to human health or the environment.
